How To Use NAHU’s Operation Shout

NAHU uses “Operation Shout” to call members to action. Operation Shout alerts are most likely to be sent when a critical bill is in a committee or on the Senate or Assembly floor. NAHU may need your help to:

  • Urge every member of the committee to vote for or against the bill
  • Urge a specific member who may be the swing vote to vote for or against the bill
  • Urge your Assembly or Senate member to vote for or against the bill during a floor vote
  • Urge the Governor to sign or veto a bill that has passed the legislature

Legislators count the number of calls, letters, and Emails they receive from constituents urging them to vote a certain way. So, when you receive an Email asking you to participate in Operation Shout, it’s crucial for you to respond. In addition to your own personal response, you should encourage your clients, staff, friends, and family to participate.

“Operation Shout” will have an impact if we demonstrate our strength in numbers. When you receive an “Operation Shout” Email, please follow these simple instructions:

  1. Click on the link in the “Operation Shout” Email you receive.
  2. Enter your zip code and click on GO.
  3. You will see a letter that has been drafted for you to send. You can edit the letter or send it as is.
  4. Follow the simple online instructions to send your letter by Email. You will receive an Email confirming that your letter was electronically sent.
  5. Forward the “Operation Shout” Email to your clients, staff, friends, and family. Encourage them to send letters, too.
